A plane cuts a pyramid as shown in the diagram. What is the shape of the cross section?

is more or less the same thing, except that this is a hexagonal pyramid, as opposed to a cylinder

anyhow, if I were to liken it with the conic sections I'd say a parabola, just since the plane is cutting down a hexagonal pyramid it just wouldn't be a smooth-line parabola
