What type of figurative language does this quotation illustrate?

"Through the obscurity which hid their faces their thoughts seemed to dart at each other like serpents shooting venom."
Heres what i have so far:

Personification: thoughts dart at each other
Simile: thoughts seemed to dart at each other like serpents shooting venom

I feel like im missing one in the first part, Through the obscurity which hid their faces.
Am i missing any or is this all the figurative language in this quote?
