What started world war ll for America ?
For America?
World War Two in Europe began on 3rd September 1939, when the Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, declared war on Germany.
That was the official start of the war. It is a different case if you would like to know what caused the war to be declared.
For the United Sates, it started when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941.
Yes, I agree with @dmndlife24 , it depends on the viewpoint.
In order for @dmndlife24 and I to properly answer your question, you must be a bit more specific :D
True^
The U.S. had put an embargo on Japan as a punishment for their aggression with China. This meant they weren't getting the crude supplies (like oil) they needed to fuel their war effort. The Japanese wanted to take over other land in East Asia for resources but thought this would bring the U.S. into war. So they decided to bomb Pearl Harbor in an attempt to destroy the U.S.'s naval force.
