solve the following problem:) -25+37= A) -62 B)62 C) -12 D) 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how so? @coolshava

OpenStudy (anonymous):

reorder it. \[37-25+x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then separate by place, 37-20 is 17, minus 5 is 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh awesome that makes so much more sense thanks for the help!:) can you help me with a few more? @coolshava

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve the following problem 17+15-100 A) -33 B)33 C)167 D)-167

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@coolshava

OpenStudy (anonymous):

17+15 first, then subtract 100 from that. break it up into easier fragments.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -167? @coolshava

OpenStudy (anonymous):

17+15 is 32, right? -100+32 is...not on your answers? -68 my answers don't match what is on your choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry its 17+50-100 ! so sorry i just re checked it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@coolshava

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's different... 17+50 is 67. -100 plus 67 is essentially the opposite of 100 minus 67, so for me it's easier to just do that, and then slap a negative sign on it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok awesome -167

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no soory -33? right @coolshava

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah. it's negative 33.
