OpenStudy (ashley1nonly):

An electron moving along the x axis has a position given by x = 18te-4t m, where t is in seconds. How far is the electron from the origin when it momentarily stops?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is e in this?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Is this \(\large x=18te^{-4t}\)?

OpenStudy (ashley1nonly):

yes

OpenStudy (ashley1nonly):

i took the derivative and got e^-4t(18-72t)

OpenStudy (ashley1nonly):

set it equal to zero and got 1/4

OpenStudy (ashley1nonly):

plugged it in and got 1.7 and it was wrong

OpenStudy (ashley1nonly):

change that i got e^-4t(1-4t) for the derivative
