y=x^2+1 --------- The graph passes throug ( 0, 1). In fact, that is the vertex. The second thing to look for is a parabola that is opening upwards.

Look at option A. Does it pass through the point (0,1) and does it open upward.

It passes through those points and it is upwards
Option A does not pass through the point (0,1). Option A passes through ( 0, -1)
