OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay YAY!! Give me a sec...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry... Trying to find it... Hold a sec...

The table shows data from a survey about the number of times families travel by car or taxi during an average week. The families are either from a rural town (population under 5,000) or a large city (population over 1 million): Rural Town City 0 0 0 0 1 2 3 2 7 4 7 8 7 10 14 12 14 16 20 20 45 20 Which of the choices below best describes how to measure the center of this data? Both centers are best described with the mean. Both centers are best described with the median. The country data center is best described by the mean. The city data center is best described by the median. The country data center is best described by the median. The city data center is best described by the mean. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The median is of course the middle of the center of the data, which means that you have to find the middle most value from the data given. Mean is the average and mode is the value that occurs the most often; therefore, you can exclude those two because they are irrelevant to the situation here. But since you have two values of the median, you will have to average those two values together to get a singular value.

Hope that helps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say that both the city and the country centers are described by the mean.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You there??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not quite sure what the format of the data you are showing. Are you looking for a value as an answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am sorry, but that is the best I could do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is most likely the first choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found the answer...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay... Thanks... can you help with another or no??
