Which function rule matches the graph below? f(x) = 2x – 4 f(x) = 2x f(x) = x – 4 f(x) = x + 4

Nnesha (nnesha):

first look at the y-axis what is the point where line touch y-axis ??? where line touch y-axis that is your y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the why intercept is -4, correct?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes that'sr ight

Nnesha (nnesha):

now for slope you have 2 option first take two points and use slope formula another way is to just look at the graph and see how many step are you going up and how many step right first draw a line which make right triangle there

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1422660607883:dw|for example this is your graph exampel<--

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1422660635824:dw| now here is a example that how you make triangle which help you to count steps and yeah like i said before you can take two points and use formula to find slope up to you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay! I think I remember how to get the slope. It's rise over run, right? In this problem, the equation would be -4 - 0 / 0 - 2. So theslope is -4 / -2, or 2!

Nnesha (nnesha):

slope is 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nnesha (nnesha):

so what is your answer!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = 2x - 4 ??

Nnesha (nnesha):

yeah good :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yay, thanks so much!!!

Nnesha (nnesha):

my pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good job!!!!
