To solve -6x+4=-20, what steps would you perform? fill in the blanks. (multiply by, divide by, subtract, add) _________4 and (multiply by, divide by, subtract, add) _________-6.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

What will you do to eliminate 4 from the left hand side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um thats hard

OpenStudy (dmndlife24):

you have to get your x terms on one side and other terms on the other side...like this -6x + 4 = -20 To eliminate the 4 i will have to subtract it from both sides... -6x = -24 Now divide by -6 on both sides to isolate x... x = -24/-6
