Sundar used linear combination to solve the system of equations shown. He did so by multiplying the first equation by 5 and the second equation by another number to eliminate the y-terms. What number did Sundar multiply the second equation by? @ganeshie8 @satellite73 @Kainui @pooja195 @wio Can you please help me? I'm really confused. I've already had like three of these open and everyone just stops and disappears. Please help if you can!! c:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends largely on what the equations are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, sorry. Here's the equation.

@satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if multiplied by 5, the y terms would have coefficient 45 multiply the second by \(-9\) and the coefficient of the y term will be \(-45\) so when you add they drop out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait so it would be -9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that matches them up so that they drop out when added
