I don't know by the directions, what they expect me to do. Could someone explain this to me? The corresponding polygonal bases for each of the right prisms are shown below with their corresponding area formulas. Determine the formulas for the volume of the rectangular prism, the triangular prism, and the regular hexagonal prism shown above.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

You have a lot of geometric figures but you forgot to post the images

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

to get the volume of any prism, you use this formula V = B*h V = volume B = area of the base h = height of the overall prism

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

does this look familiar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, it makes since. Do ya think that's what they're looking for?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah it looks like they just want you to find the volume of each prism

The 3 shapes they gave me, included no numbers to work with. So, they just want me to determine the 3 different formuals for the 3 different shapes?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes I think so. If they gave you numbers, you would replace the variables with those numbers. Since they didn't give you any values, just state the formulas

Great! Thank you! Your a huge help. I just wanted to make sure that I was understanding it.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
