can you help me make this sound better?

OpenStudy (surryyy):

Do you enjoy sitting in class with peers, taking notes, while listening to the professor's lecture? Or, do you prefer sitting at home alone, learning at your own pace? In a traditional course, multiple students gather to learn in a specific time and place. Online courses allow students the flexibility to choose the time and place to learn that is most convenient for them. Each learning environment attracts different learning styles, and, given a choice, students tend to thrive in or to gravitate toward either an online or a traditional learning environment. In contrast, the style of instruction in online programs is student-driven. Depending on the course, students may experience varying levels of control over the pace of receiving learning the material and when they attend the class. Online courses rely on Internet technology trends including Web pages, software programs such as Blackboard, message boards, chat rooms, and social media. Face-to-face interaction with classmates or the instructor is absent. Typically, online learning tends to favor independent learning styles, while collaborative (working together to achieve a goal) learning is favorable to students in traditional courses. In addition to relying on technology, online programs expect students to be self-directed in achieving their academic goals while balancing other responsibilities. Traditional learning environments offer opportunities for face-to-face interaction, which favors students who thrive with collaborative learning styles. For example, following up on the lecture, students may attend discussion sections included in the course, attend in-person, independent study groups with peers or interact with the instructor after class or during office hours. At a regular school, social and academic support may come from peers on campus.
