x f 11 3 12 2 13 5 14 1 15 2 16 6 17 3 Find Mean,Median

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

@Schen421

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am a bit confused on what it is trying to ask, whether it wants to median/mean of x and y or them individually.

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

First the Mean after calculating the Mean find out the Median

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the mean is just the average. So add up all the X's and divide it by how many there are, then do the same for y independently.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mean of the x values is 14, and mean of the y values are 22/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Median of the x would be 14 since it is in the middle. ( and they already labeled the #s in sequence.

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

???? i am confused??? :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Median of the y values would be 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The mean is just all the numbers added up and divided by how many # were added up and the median is just the order of sequence from lowest to highest and then finding the middle #.

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

also find the mode

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mode is the number that is seen the most.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the x values, there is no mode but for the y, 2 and 3 are repeated the most.

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok i'll just made a example, the Mode of these numbers 1,1,3,4,5,1 would be what?

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

idk :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mode is the numbers MOST seen. So just think Mode-most. Which number do you see that most in that example?

OpenStudy (aaronandyson):

the question also states draw an histogram

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, i'm not sure anymore. Sorry.
