if it was between any consecutive odd integers, it would not be hard to figure out.

all odd positive integers are: \(\large\color{slate}{1,~~3,~~5,~~7~~... }\) all even positive integers are: \(\large\color{slate}{2,~~4,~~6,~~8~~... }\)
when you say a number 124 is between 2 odd consecutive integers, then it is between 123 and 125.
when you say it is between consecutive integers, there is no such a case.
