this means that... lets estimate for a min 80 guards left with 4 days so that means that 120 gaurds ate food for 27 days you can divide 120 by 27 to get an estimate .

To start with there is food available for 200*31 heads
after 27 days, the remaining food will be $200*31 - 200*27 = 200*4$ heads

divide that by $80$ heads, you get  $10$ days
so the food will last for $6$ extra days

i think we have to assume that the guards died all on the same day (27th day) after being fed.  but i guess a battle lasts a day?
