How to solve 3-(k+1)=-2?

incorrect. k= 1 i think to place a number.
but if you dont make k 1 it makes no sence.
K=-2..... I think
if you dont it wont be -2 lol xD
can someone show me the steps though? i have to explain how i got the answer

ok make 3-1+k.
do that but do 3-1 first.
that = 2 now 2+k is do you know what k is?
