Percent problems can be solved with proportions. You are looking for 90% of 250. That means 250 is the total, or 100%. This is the proportion you need to make: "250 is to 100% as x is to 90%." As a proportion, you write it this way: \(\dfrac{250}{100} = \dfrac{x}{90} \) Now you need to solve the proportion. Cross multiply: \(100x = 250 \times 90\) \(100x = 22,500\) Divide both sides by 100 \(x = 225\) The answer is: 90% 0f 250 is 225.
