The Anti-Christ would set their self as God, denying Christ and God the Father. Though may be Christ like except denying God the Father. At the end of Revelation's, after the Anti-Christ, a Temple is eventually build toward "God and the Lamb".

The antichrists are anyone who denies the Christ. This is not to be confused with the Antichrist, who will be a specific person. In the end times, the Antichrist will claim to be the Christ. He will promise 7 years of peace with Israel, and the temple will be rebuilt. For the first half of the 7 years, that promise will be kept, and the Antichrist will continue to deceive the Earth. At the beginning of the second half of the Tribulation (known as the Great Tribulation), the promise of peace will be broken, the Antichrist will be revealed.

The antichrist isn't like an atheist, and actually most people believe that the Catholic church are antichrists, because most Catholics claim that the Pope is one with God, that he has power over Heaven as well as Earth. Pope Francis has even said that it is "dangerous" to have a personal relationship with Jesus, and so many people believe he is the Antichrist.

So? The Pope is definitely not the only option. People also believe Muslims are the antichrists. Like I said, the Antichrist might not even be born yet. All we know is that the end times are near. Islam also makes predictions for the end times. They believe in twelve spiritual leaders, the twelfth being Abu al-Qasim Muhammad, and they believe that he will come back before the day of judgement. So, a lot of people believe that the Antichrist will pretend to be the twelfth Imam, so he will be muslim.

This is just one other example. We cannot assume that the Antichrist will be the Pope. There's definitely more false gods than the Pope, and who says it will be any of them either?

I met someone who denied God in every way. He's like
"and the fake god came down and supposedly came back to life"
His parents thought he was the antichrist because he had these eyes that felt like they burned through you, a deep yellow color. And he fell into spells whenever he heard someone say Jesus.
A symbolic thing with his dog, Richie, ran away from him, and Richie (weird he named his dog after himself) found his dog taking a leak on a tree by a church

In the 16th century the Roman Catholic Church added a Title to the Pope, "The Vicar of Christ" which means Christ presents on Earth. This was done in the period of enlightenment when modern science was taking hold. They also created a the Jesuit Priesthood which were trained in their Theology and studied the developing science, they were the only Priesthood that had direct access with the Pope. The present Pope is a Jesuit, he studied chemistry. I suspect the Pope will continue with this Title until they determine Christ is back.
