Well most of the heat is originally from the sun, but due to the greenhouse effect, some of this heat remains trapped in our atmosphere which contributes to global warming.

@Ahmedsamier Definitely not carbon dioxide. in fact, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere absorbs heat.
