what is the energy of an ecosystem used for? Giving medal
I know it is used by plants to make photosynthesis, but I mean why do consumers need the energy for
@gahm8684 What is an ecosystem? A region including abiotic and biotic things that interact together.
right
@gahm8684 So, the energy of the ecosystem must be used for maintaining the ecosystem, right? All the organic and non-organic chemical reactions that will occur in the ecosystem.
That doesnt really answer my question
what is the energy used by consumers used for
@gahm8684 You question is broad and covers all things in the ecosystem, alive or not. All the energy is used in the non-biotic chemical reactions, and the growth of the lifeforms. Is this question exactly as worded?
All energy not used would be lost as heat.
still dont get it, but here is you medal
I'm a bit confused as to what you are asking. An ecosystem doesn't have its own energy in a sense that it can be used for anything. The oceans and all life and non-life in the oceans are an ecosystem. So, how does it have energy? The members that are part of the ecosystem have energy. Are you asking how energy is transferred and transformed from the sun or other non-living source to the different members of the ecosystem?
enthalapy !!
