which phrase best describes the process of meiosis? 1) Occurs in the body cells 2) Results in the genetically identical cells 3) Happens only in haploid cells 4) Produces haploid gametes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JuniEscamilla Meiosis is used to produce gametes for sexual reproduction. In humans, we call our gametes sperm and egg cells. We get half our DNA from our fathers and half from out mothers, meaning the sperm and egg cells must have half the DNA of normal cells. Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mrdoldum yes that does help, but I'm still not sure what best describes the process of meiosis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JuniEscamilla Do you know what "haploid" means?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@JuniEscamilla We would say our sperm and egg cells are haploid.
