Which of the following events is most common at a transform plate boundary? frequent earthquakes a hot spot volcano formation of a mountain chain a mid ocean ridge Is it frequent earthquakes?

@k_lynn

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

So at a transform boundary, you have two tectonic plates sliding past one another in opposite directions. Now they don't really like moving all the time, so they tend to stick together. The pressure build up between these two plates (this is called strain), once they get to a certain amount of pressure, they will eventually slip past one another to reduce the strain. This results in a rapid movement of two VERY LARGE land masses. What does that sound like to you?

Volcano, Frequent Earthquakes?
