(8/9) 2 =
Hello @beckybrown and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) I am guessing you just want to simplify this expression? 8 -- x 2 = ? 9 right?
No, I am wondering what (8/9) to the 2nd power equals
ohhhhhhh
hint: \(\bf \left(\cfrac{a}{b}\right)^n\implies \cfrac{a^n}{b^n} \)
you can distribute the ^2 (2nd power) into the parenthesis so it becomes \[\large (\frac{ 8 }{ 9 })^2 = \frac{ 8^2 }{ 9^2 }\]
So would it equal 64/81?
correct :)
Perfect thanks . . . helping a 6th grader with homework.
Glad we could help ^_^
