Help Please?! 10a^3 b - 12a^2 b^2

OpenStudy (alekos):

does this need to be simplified?

OpenStudy (genny7):

I think so

OpenStudy (genny7):

@alekos

OpenStudy (alekos):

well you just need to find the common factors for each term One of these is 2. what do you think the other two are?

OpenStudy (genny7):

Would it be 2a (a-b) 6ab (a-b)

OpenStudy (alekos):

nice try but no. the other two factors are a^2 and b so just go like this 2(a^2)*b(ma - nb) I'll let you find m and n

OpenStudy (genny7):

Okay so m would be 5a & n would be 6b, right?

OpenStudy (alekos):

yep. that's it m=5 n=6

OpenStudy (genny7):

So then it would be 2(a^2) b(5a-6b) @alekos

OpenStudy (alekos):

yes. you got it!

OpenStudy (genny7):

Yay! Can u help me on another one?

OpenStudy (alekos):

yeah sure
