What is mitosis ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOH YAY ONE OF MY FAVORITE SCIENCE DISCUSSIONS!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay basically mitosis is the separation of cell nucleus, that creates two identical sets of chromosomes.

Not to be confused with meiosis! (The cell dividing method used in sexually reproducing eukaryotes!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mitosis is the aesexual reproduction division, AND the sexual reproducing repair!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mistosis is a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus, typical of ordinary tissue growth. there is another that has a smiliar name to it so dont get them confused, thats what i had trouble with.
