Can someone check a few answers for me? :)
QUESTION: An equation is shown below: 9x - y = -2 Part A: Explain how you will show all of the solutions that satisfy this equation. (4 points) Part B: Determine three different solutions for this equation. (4 points) Part C: Write an equation that can be paired with the given equation in order to form a system of equations that is inconsistent. (2 points) ANSWER: Part A: 9x - y= -2 solve for y and add y to both sides 9x= -2 y add 2 9x 2 = y There are infinite number of solutions to the equation. Part B: 9(2) 2 = y 18 2 = 20 x= 2 and y= 20 9(3) 2 = y 27 2 29 x= 3 and y= 29 9(4) 2= y 36 2 = 38 x= 4 and y= 38 Part C: 9x-y = 5 is an example because there is no x or y values that can both be 5 or -2 at the same time.
It looks good to me, but you probably want a second opinion.
Okay thank you.
