simplify. (3x^2-2x+1)+(-5x^2+7x+6)

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Combine like terms. 3x^2 - 5x^2 -2x + 7x 1 + 6 Add/Subtract those

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is not really "simplify" it is "add" or "combine like terms"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you do that? @Cassandra_Lea_96

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes =) hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with exponents I forgot do I only add and subtract the coefficients and keep the exponent the same or do they also add or cancel out? Dumb question I'm sure but I can't remember =o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is what I got though; -2x^2+5x+7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We just subtract/add the whole numbers, for example: 3x^2 + 9x^2 = 12x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok cool so that looks right then? =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perfect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you =)
