OpenStudy (misty1212):

hi!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

first we have to add \(12\tfrac{1}{4}+6\tfrac{1}{3}\) what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18.5833333333

@misty1212

OpenStudy (misty1212):

lol not a calculator exercise , add the mixed numbers

OpenStudy (misty1212):

your answer is a mixed number, this is mixed number arithmetic, no decimals involved

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18 2/7

OpenStudy (misty1212):

hmmm no

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\(12+6=18\) that part is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

;-; idk

OpenStudy (misty1212):

but \[\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{4}\neq \frac{2}{7}\]that is now how you add fractions, top and bottom like you did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm I helped with this last problem The perimeter is the distance around the shape, and to find the missing side, you must add the two sides together, then subtract it from the perimeter. That is your missing side, so 32 - (12 1/4 + 6 1/3) = x
