Calculate the value of the exterior angle (8x+15) the two equations inside the triangle are 4x+5 and 3x+20

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the opposite interior angles so you can set up the equation 4x + 5 + 3x + 20 = 8x + 15 which becomes 7x + 25 = 8x + 15 you can now solve for x. then to find the exterior angle, substitute it back into 8x + 15 to find the measure. hope it helps
