You cannot combine a free market (competitive society) with a socialistic principles, that is setting yourself up for failure.

Wealth distribution, over regulating, Increasing the minimum wage, etc and other socialist policies to not mix well with a free market. They do not work well anywhere, but especially not in a free trade.. That's contradictory.
