Why did the Emancipation Proclamation free slaves only in Confederate states? President Lincoln did not have the authority to remove property from U.S. citizens. President Lincoln did not have the authority to naturalize Northern freedmen into citizens. Northern legislatures had already passed legislation blocking emancipation. Northern legislatures had already passed the Emancipation Proclamation. @paki @confluxepic

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

What do you think it is. @knightmare6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This one i have no idea i beleive it is A

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

No.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Remember. The part he did not have control of was the confederates.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it cant Be D or A

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

So he had control of the northern side already.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its B then.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

And he fought against slavery.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

B is also wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only other one left is C but i dont know how can you explain?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

C is also wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then d..

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

He was in control of the northern side so he already freed the slaves.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay. Thanks!

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

After they defeated the confederates he was able to free the remaining slaves.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):
