Medal Fan!!!!!!!!!!!! Paragraph form plzz... A point M on a segment with endpoints X (1, -2) and Y (10, 3) partitions the segment in a 4:1 ratio. Find M. You must show all work to receive credit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first thing you want to do is take 10-1 and 3- (-2)

OpenStudy (agl202):

ok...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay now you can convert that into a fraction so it would be -1/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make sense so far?

OpenStudy (agl202):

ya, ok...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then you have the point (-1, 9) so then you take your ratio and convert it to 4/5 and you multiply that by -1 and by 9 to get -4/5 x 36/5 and when you simplify those to decimals you get the coordinates -0.8 and 7.2 which are your new coordinates

OpenStudy (agl202):

Thx.. so much!!! U were huge help!!!=)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :)
