When solving a system of equations by graphing, where on the graph would you find the solution?

OpenStudy (danjs):

intersection points

OpenStudy (toribyrd33):

Thank you. Can a ask another one?

OpenStudy (danjs):

k

OpenStudy (toribyrd33):

What would you put for the solution if the lines were parallel?

OpenStudy (danjs):

Two parallel lines never intersect. They will not have any solutions for the system. It is called inconsistent.

OpenStudy (danjs):

If you try to solve using conventional techniques, you may end up with the variables dropping out and a false statement like... 10 = 15 or something liek that.... no solution, false, inconsistent, parallel lines.,
