Super confused! *Question below* **medal**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wheres the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand what it means by "make the equation true"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ExwireTamer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so lets first understand what that means

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if i show you 5 = 5, that is an equation, an equation has a left side (left of the equals sign) and right side (right of the equals sign), it says that the left side is equal to the right side, so if i show you 5 = 5, is that equation true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok perfect, and if i show you 7 = 5, is that equation true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok perfect, i think you know now what it means for an equation to be true, so the left side must equal the right side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so first you will want to make the left side of the equation look like the right side, are you comfortable with that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you basically have to simplify the left hand side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I know how to do that I just read the question wrong and didn't get what it was saying at first, but I think I got it now. Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok perfect, nice
