OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a question?

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

how come the X's don't get cancelled out?

OpenStudy (littlebird):

Solving for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh never mind, i see it now.

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

no, just simplifying the expression.

OpenStudy (littlebird):

If you have something like (x-y) you can't just cancel out the x. The whole phrase has to be canceled.

OpenStudy (littlebird):

x/(x-y) doesn't cancel......but (x-y)/(x-y) does cancel
