Sorry Guys Im REALLY BAD at This Identify the independent and dependent variables in the following statement. The more water flowing into the pool, the greater the water depth is in the pool. A. The independent variable is the depth of water in the pool, and the dependent variable is the rate that water is flowing into the pool. B. The independent variable is the rate that water is flowing into the pool, and the dependent variable is the depth of water in the pool.

well, to figure this, you need to decide which one is changing because of the other. the one that changes because of the other changing is the dependent one. the other one is independent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An independent value is one that is varied or changed by the observer, and the dependent value is the value that is measured. Considering that we can not control the amount of water depth, but we can control the amount of water flowing into the pool, which of the answers do you think is correct?

im thinking its B b/c the water depth keeps changing witch would make that the dependent right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. :)

ah ok thanks
