a scientific notation contain a single digit, then a point (.) and the remaining numbers. to determine the scientific notation of a given number, find out how many times you have to move the decimal point to the right of the single digit and that's the power of 10. if with the given number, you need to move to the left, the power is a positive if with the given number, you need to move to the right, the power is a negative in this case, you move 5 times to the left, so the answer is

But yeah 10^5 is 100,000. Then times that by 3.935. Then the decimal disappears or moved over to make the whole number. There was a rule to that but I forgot it.
