OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

I see a yellow tabby thing to the right talking about a "community manager intern" and I would like to inquire on what the intern would be required to do and any requirements needed to qualify?

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Yellow tabby thing?

OpenStudy (preetha):

Sleepy, we are looking for an intern to work on community management. Need to be a passionate user of OpenStudy. High SmartScore. Writes well. And is a SUPER NICE person. And has a few hours a day to spend on OpenStudy.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

I nominate @jigglypuff314

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

@Preetha @jigglypuff314 would be the perfect person :D Or @Compassionate

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

But why is there a need for a high SS. Data was nice before she had a high SS.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

The SS can't really be accurate.

OpenStudy (preetha):

In the email, tell us your age, school/college, and why you LOVE OpenStudy. No nominations. Just let people who are interested email.

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

Ok. :)

OpenStudy (preetha):

Oh and tell us your real name and your OpenStudy username.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

what would "community management" include? I'm assuming it's not really a moderating job? would they manage owl competitions and such events?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^

OpenStudy (preetha):

yes. all kinds of non mod stuff

OpenStudy (preetha):

be the voice of the community

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

OpenStudy (conqueror):

You must have closed it. @TheSmartOne

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Was it a pop-up?

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Yes.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

The same pop up that popped up saying I was officially the Emperor of Owls.

"But why is there a need for a high SS. Data was nice before she had a high SS." @confluxepic I think Preetha only mentioned that a user must have a high ss because the user should already be knowledgeable about OS and know a lot of users, not because a lower ss user isn't nice.... :D

Nnesha (nnesha):

not really^^^ *higher ss user isn't nice* you can say this about them too ss doesn't represent how well behaved u are

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

i dont get this internship, can someone explain what do we do as one and how to apply?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @confluxepic But why is there a need for a high SS. Data was nice before she had a high SS. \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) which Data are we talking about here? lol @data_lg2 or @data? If its @data_lg2, what happened? "Data WAS NICE BEFORE she had a high SS." She's not nice anymore? xD Anyway, I've see the tabby thing also before but OS was lagging for me at that time so I didn't have the chance to click it. The smartscore on top also blocks the people who are viewing the post. So yeah, I am having a hard time with OS these days. My love affair with OS is getting stronger and more complicated. It's good that sleepy put up this topic ^_^

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

@Preetha This sounds like a great idea! A community manager could be the peoples voice. In a way it could be the president of regular users. Or more like a mayor. hehe I forget OS has a dictator @e.mccormick lol Anyway, this sounds awesome, the person could be in charge of organizing events and getting new users more engaged with the community. The more active members are with the community the better chance of them respecting OS and trying to enforce it's rules. Community manger could watch user activity and spot the users who help OS and contribute and maybe congratulate them on there good work. Although, I think there should be 2 or 3 instead of one community manager, this way the community managers wont have to take all the disrespect from uniformed or just plain ignorant users who assume they are responsible for things happening. Sort'a like when an ambi gets blamed for a suspension. Also you can maybe turn this into a program like with the ambi's. Like the most experienced and effective community mangers actually get that 'title' as community manger. The others will be considered maybe junior community managers. Those are just some ideas don't really want any one to argue just say reply, and don't be to disrespectful just some honest opinions. :P

I disagree with your points.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Oh okay... >_<

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

I was talking about you. @Data_LG2 You're still nice. I was just saying that you used to have a low SS but you still had the same great characteristics. That's why I was arguing that SS is not accurate. In fact it shouldn't be considered.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I understand. I'm just jking. and thanks for the compliment. I agree with what you are trying to say. Some people that have lower SS are also knowledgeable enough and knows how to use the site properly. I think Ms. Preetha is just trying to make sure that the people who will join this team have high qualifications to represent Openstudy. Usually, people who have high scores have more experiences in the site because of the time they spent here at Openstudy (one of the reason why they have high SS). This maybe the reason, maybe not.. no one knows :D
