Select the statement that is not true of Champlain He was a geographer. He explored for colony sites. He began a successful colony. He had a city named for him.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Champlain started a colony in Canada, I can't remember the name right now, and it DID work out, so C can be crossed off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Champlain would have mapped his route to his destination, and then mapped the area that he used for the city, so A can be crossed off.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He would have to look for colony sites, so B is not the answer either. So I would say D, besides, I have never heard of a city named Champlain. Oh! I believe that the city was Quebec!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha THANK YOU!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! ^-^ Any more?
