Convert 15 millimeters to meters. A-15,000 m B-0.15 m C-0.015 m D-1500 m

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

Ask yourself this.. "is milli smaller than or bigger than the original phrase?"

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

The term "Milli" mean a thousand.. so one meter would mean 1000 millimeters.

OpenStudy (afrodiddle):

Your answer would be C-0.015 because you are turning the milligrams into grams. which puts the last digit in the "ThousandTHS" place.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldnt it be A then?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

a millimeter is the little strokes on your ruler.. so a millimeter is TINY compared to one meter... 1 METER = 1000 millimeters so if we want ONE millimeter we have to divide 1 meter by 1000. Therefore, 1 MILLIMETER = 0.001 meters now multiply both sides by 15.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be C? Ok so not big but tiny

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, it would be C

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

yepp :)
