solve this system of equations algebraically, then demonstrate graphically that your results are correct
{10x+4y=24 {-6x-4y=8
elimination method would be great to use on this equation.
Yes ^^ Add the equations. 10x + -6x 4y + -4y 24 + 8 What do you get?
so the 4's would cancel themselvs out. then you have 4x=32. then solve for x. when you get x plug it back into the first or second equation at the top and get y. then you will have (x,y)
Yes.. 10x + -6x = 4x 4y + -4y = 0 24 + 8 = 32 That leaves us with: 4x = 32 Divide 32 / 4. @Frazfootballa
Is the answer 8? @iGreen.
there will be two answers so. 10x+4y=24 -6x-4y=8 4x=32 x=8 then plug x into the first or second equation so. 10(8)+4y=24 80+4y=24 -80 -80 4y= -56 y= -14 (8, -14)
Wow i get you @LittleBowWow thats so smart !! thank you very very much for your help
Yes, so 'x' is 8.. Now we can plug this back into any of the two equations and solve for 'y': 10x + 4y = 24 10(8) + 4y = 24 80 + 4y = 24 Subtract 80 to both sides: 4y = -56 Now can you divide -56 / 4?
