Read this excerpt from "The Lady of Shalott" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. In what way is the Lady of Shalott symbolic of an artist such as a poet? There she weaves by night and day A magic web with colours gay. She has heard a whisper say, A curse is on her if she stay To look down to Camelot. She knows not what the curse may be, And so she weaveth steadily, And little other care hath she, The Lady of Shalott.

Were there any choices to choose from? I have the same question and text but I also have choices which are as follows: A.) She is forced into isolation from the real world by devotion to her craft. B.) She is aware of the existence of her curse although she doesn't know its origin. C.) She devotes night and day to her craft and thinks of it as magical. D.) She has no interest in social concerns because they aren't relevant to her craft. Let's break down each answer with the poem, A is not necessarily correct due to the fact that the poem does not say she was forced into isolation. B is possibly correct due to the fact that she does know of the curse, as said in the poem, as well as she does not know what the curse may be. C is undoubtedly incorrect because she doesn't say or hint that she thinks her craft is magical, but the poem describes the craft as such. Therefore C is incorrect. D is possibly incorrect because she has little care about anything other than her craft, not necessarily just social concerns. In my best opinion I would say B is the correct answer, but everyone is wrong sometimes. :)
