LaTeX keeps flashing in the 'Preview'

Because it is taking slower time to load the LaTeX. That is telling you that it is loading. LaTeX usually loads instantly if you have fast internet connection

It is refreshing the preview and when that happes your system re-renders the math. Since MathJax has been runnng slow lately, that causes it to flash.
