PLEASE HELP ASAP Solve by substitution. Show each step of your work. 2x + y = 7 3x + 5y = 14

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

take the 1st equation and make y the subject... this can be done by subtracting 2x from both sides of the equation y = -2x + 7 now substitute this into the 2nd equation 3x + 5(-2x + 7) = 14 the equation now has just 1 unknown so distribute the 5 collect like terms and the solve for x when you get x, substitute it into either of the original equations to find y hope it helps
