What determines a graph to be functional?

OpenStudy (zale101):

Does the graph pass the vertical line test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im mean I think C?

OpenStudy (zale101):

No problem, a graph is a function if no vertical lines consists of more than one of its point. When i asked, does the graph pass the vertical line test, i was meaning are there only one point on the vertical lines of the graph. If the y-axis of the graph intersects twice, then it is not a function.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So C?

OpenStudy (zale101):

It is not a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so which one ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont really know

OpenStudy (zale101):

http://www.purplemath.com/modules/fcns.htm it's relation only

thanks :)
