Solve for x and y. I believe x = 8√3 , y = 24 I just want to double check my answer and make sure i'm correct/going in the right direction

Use the 30-60-90 theorem: The 30 leg is half the hypotenuse. So, y = (1/2)* (16 sqrt(3) ) = ? Once you get the 30 leg, multiply it by sqrt(3) to get the 60 leg, x. @DNTU4GETBOUTME So, let's check that against your answers.

@Directrix sorry had to find paper

Directrix (directrix):

Y is the smallest side of the triangle because it it opposite the smallest angle of the triangle. y = 24 is incorrect because 24 is greater than the hypotenuse which is the longest side.

Directrix (directrix):

x is not 8√3. Hint: I think you have reversed the measures.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix So x = 24√3 , y = 8?
