If the temperature at noon was : -12 degrees celcius Then AFTER 9 hours (so noon + 9 hours would be 9pm) the temperatured DROPPED 8 degrees celsius. This means that to find the temperature at 9pm you would simply subtract 8 from -12. So -12 -8 = ?

think of it like this: you are 12 dollars in debt and you spend 8 more dollars (so you go further into debt)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's how I think of -12 - 8
