distributive property is when you multiply everything in the parenthesis by the number outside of the parenthesis
-5(4x - 3) = -5 * 4x + (-5) * -3 = -20x + 15

well, you see the negative sign on the outside. if you went on and distributed the negative (aka -1) to everything else, you would get your answer. :)
