In the elimination method, If there is nothing to eliminate wouldn't it be no solution? @Directrix @Nurali

Directrix (directrix):

What is the problem you are working?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4y+2x=18 3x+6y=26

Directrix (directrix):

I don't see how you eliminated both variables here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't do anything...that's what the problem is

Directrix (directrix):

Why did you post this: >>If there is nothing to eliminate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I was aking you

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you have to make something to eliminate. You have to multiply 1 or both equations by a certain number to eliminate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I do that? @texaschic101

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not to sound ignorant or anything but when it come to algebra I really suck

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

the x's and y's eliminate....I believe that this has no solution

Directrix (directrix):

Question: Are you supposed to do algebra to show the solution. Are you permitted to graph to get an answer? Tell me more. @dontre

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am suppose to show my work but no graphing @Directrix
