What molecule is represented by the molecular model shown below?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

what do you think @mattyboyy

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

After readng u on my notes I believe its ATP @jagr2713

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

You can use process of elimination for these, in a way. While ring structures are common of sugars (like glucose) and starches, neither has any phosphate in their molecular structures. This leaves Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and Adenosine diphosphate (ADP). If the model shown has 2 phosphate molecules attached to it, which suffix fits : di (meaning 2) or tri (meaning 3)?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

you get it @mattyboyy

OpenStudy (mattyboyy):

Yeah I understand thanks bro @jagr2713
